Motorcyclists: How Do You CCW?

Looking for different ideas.

I normally carry in the waist band or under the arm with a 5.11 undershirt. However, on longer rides, I wear 2 piece leathers which are zipped together at the waist. So, waistband carry is out. In warm weather I wear an Under Armour shirt. The 5.11 shirt would work, but when I take the jacket off, it wouldn't work too well when I'm out and about. I could throw it in a tank bag, but I don't like not having it physically on me.

I wear an Aerostitch Roadcrafter (one piece) and keep a G23 in the side pocket of my magnetic tank bag. A two-piece might be different, but I never found a way to realistically carry in a one-piece.

Dealing with zippers is just too slow and I didn't want to worry about landing on it if I have a get off.

Pants and t shirt, No different. The only thing I change is that I will tuck my shirt under my holster clip to keep the wind from lifting my shirt up.

I usually ride in Dainese boots, regular or Kevlar jeans, dainese leather jacket, gloves. IWB still works.

I did have a nice black OWB that matched my jacket, but I couldn't keep my jacket from riding up and was worried about landing on a pound of steel with my hip.

I don't have a CCW and don't carry.
But I am a rider.
Back in the day, folding Buck knives in a leather case on your belt were popular, I wore one back then.
My only serious street riding accident was when a drunk pulled out in front of me.
My bike hit the car, but I jumped over the hood and tucked into a ball and rolled as I hit the street (having had considerable practice crashing while off-road riding).
During my rolling, the Buck knife moved on my belt to right by my tailbone.
My tailbone and lower back were very sore for a couple weeks in the shape of the Buck knife...skin bruise and bone bruise...otherwise I was OK.
I would strongly recommend that you keep your hips and back clear of any solid objects.

A long time ago when I went touring on my Honda Interceptor, I had a tank bag where I sewed a nylon strap like you would find on a back pack. The holster of my gun clipped onto this strap and held the gun upright on the inside of the tank bag. The gun was easily accessible by simply opening the top cover of the tank bag, but was out of sight, secure, and protected from the elements. As ojisan mentioned, you really don't want anything hard on you waist or near your kidneys if you should go down. When I got off the bike, I took the tank bag off and carried it by the outside carry handle, and nobody ever suspected I had a pistol inside within a few seconds reach.

I ccw on my bike every single day. Over 30,000 miles a year. With dress slacks, in my pocket or IWB.

You will be surprised at how easy it is. A shirt that is just a little long or tucked loose conceals nicely.

This. I tried a PF9 IWB but had the same issue with modern hip-length jackets riding up starting to show the piece. Purcahsed and LCR for pocket carry in a nemesis pocket holster. Also did some G30 in a tank bag pocket for long rides just cruising.

Before I got fatter I would just put my CW9 inside the pocket but realized 2 things...

1 - zipper to get to the inside zipper
2 - zipper to get to the gun

Now I do like the others Jframe in a nemesis in my pocket... no zippers and no printing...

now I have to diet... Cheaper than another 500.00 jacket

On the Hayabusa IWB is not really an option. I'm super paranoid my jacket will ride up and some berkeley jackalope is going to call 911 on me.

I have a magnetic tank bag and carry my G23 or LCR in there. If I leave the bike, the tank bag comes with me.

If I'm going to a destination that I plan on being at all day and not in riding leathers, I'll slip into a bathroom stall to transfer the Glock to holster or LCR to pocket from tankbag.
