Can you haggle with gun shops?

I was at a shop today, looking at a Colt AR15, 6920 and a Sig P226. I stupidly right now cannot think of the individual prices.. However I did ask if there was a multi-gun discount. He quoted me $2400 for both. Sounded good...?

It got me wondering, can you haggle? Meaning if I went back and offered to pay up front $2200 type of thing?

Also, thoughts on that price point?

Yea most of the time. Additionally even a lot of chain stores will let you do layaway on firearms

It never hurts. Especially in a mom and pop establishment. Just be respectful.

For Turners I'd say it depends. If you have a good rapport with the sales person, and assuming there's enough product in stock, they'll sometimes drop the price to a previous sales price.

I remember when looking at an XD SC, the price had been set at $450 or something, but the sales guy hooked me up and dropped it to $420 on a previous sale price.

I usually offer a cash price and sometimes the LGS will come down a little bit. I've had dealers pay DROS for multi gun purchases.

I usually don't haggle on new guns, but always make offers on used guns. Went to a shop yesterday and the guy behind the counter was cleaning a Marlin Texan .30-30. I asked how much? $279. So I asked how much if he stopped cleaning it. Walked out with it and two boxes of ammo for $250
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

Of course you can haggle. Doesn't mean they will.

Depends on the demand for the model you're looking at. Right now there is a lot they prob won't budge on.

Their not going to shoot you over it...

It dose work a little more in your favor when you get to know owner and shop and buy other things.

I always ask for Cash vs Card pricing. Some times Cash will get you about 3% to 4% off. My favorite thing to do is find a dealer that has what you wont and walk in only with what your willing to pay. "Cash" Then go can you make this happen For "X" with Cash in hand. Figure in some Tax and DROS. This is how I got one HK and my Toyota.

Just never pay over MSRP some shops pray on the weak and uneducated buyer.

I got Burned one time on a gun that will be the last time.
