Looks like the home owner fatally shot one of the suspects.

Very unfortunate, but made my day when I heard one of the criminals was fatally shot

I'm about about a mile to the west from where this all went down and explains the circling helicopter. Guess I'll move the shotgun next to the bed and add another magazine for the pistol. The house is right next to UCR and is probably rented to students, I have some friends that live right around that area. News said the 4 homeowners were all Asian's in their 20's and so were the intruders.

Local news (press-enterprise story) says police they arn't sure how the the one suspect was killed. But I'm going to go with a gunshot wound, be it from the suspects own gun or the homeowners. Either way, at least one of them bought it.

Here's the latest from the Press-Enterprise. Good to know it was only a BG that was killed.

This is my old neighborhood. I emailed an old friend who literally lives just around the corner about five houses away:

                  =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

We’re fine – though I couldn’t get home for a couple of hours. Tom was here in the house when it happened – he was vacuuming, though, so he didn’t hear anything until our neighbor Lynelle came over because she heard it and was home alone. So they went out into the cul-de-sac and down towards Celeste and saw two bodies lying in the driveway of the rental house right across from the end of the cul-de-sac. There were students living there. Just then, about a million and a half cops arrived, along with a SWAT team and helicopters, and Tom and Lynelle were shooed back to our end of the cul-de-sac. I was at Costco, and came home about ten minutes after the cops got there – I was stuck out on Blaine because all entrances to Celeste were barricaded while they tried to find the shooter and covered the paramedics who came to take away the bods – one living, one dead. About an hour later, the top end of Celeste was opened, so I drove down that way – but the end of the cul-de-sac was still considered “hot,” so I had to park a few yards up Celeste. I got out and milled around with some neighbors, including some stoner student who asked what had gone on. I said, “Two people have been shot,” and he said, “Well, it IS finals’ week” – which I thought was hysterical.

Tom walked out and stood around with me for a while, and then our next-door neighbor dude (possible speed dealer) tried to leave and get his son out of there – it was like the Klopeks making a break for it in The Burbs. So they were swarmed with cops, and Tom got all involved – he must have had a lot of fun, because every time I saw him after that, he was wherever the cops were.

I don’t think they found the shooter, but the Swat team went door-to-door, and then we were let back in. I hear that it’s an Asian gang war, rather than the result of finals’ week.

                  =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Man, like I said, this is literally a neighborhood I grew up in. Between this incident and the one I wrote about months ago where the little boy was knifed to death by a crackhead in full view of my best friend, I can't understand what's become of California. Nothing but gangs, drugs, illegal aliens, psychos, liberal retard overlords, and a tiny minority of decent people like yourselves who have a foggy memory of what used to be the greatest state in the union.

Every day I read or hear something about California that reminds me why I finally packed up and left.

again... wow.... i know there are lot of stoners and druggie college students who live and deal out of their apts around that area. Its not farfetched to say that there is a chance that this was something of the sort with acquaintances trying to rob the house.

Interesting. The victim seems to have a non Asian name but the home invaders were Asians as usually seems to be the case with this type of crime. I'm surprised to see them targeting homes that are not owned by other Asians though, this is food for thought.

This post is not meant to bash Asians before someone jumps all over me. Some types of crime or weapons are traditionally associated more strongly with different groups.

Wow... I'm currently a student at UCR and I drive there now and then to stop by a friend's house (bout 4 houses away) to pick stuff up. Luckily yesterday wasn't one of those days.

                        Oh, and first post.
