Gotta love my town... according to this Fresno Bee news story a guy carjacked at least two vehicles, shot several people (killing one of them), and was shot by an off-duty corrections officer before driving off and dying of his wounds. I think someone was keeping a running list of stories where CCW-ing citizens save lives.. I think this qualifies.

Yes indeed this was fortunate because this was in California! He wasn't just armed. He was fortunately armed. I wish we could all be fortunately armed.

Every time something like this happens more of my friends question me on how they go about getting a CCW. If you read the story some people did things right and some people did not. The one lady in the first car jack did not have her doors locked while she was driving which enabled the guy to get into the passenger side of her vehicle. Please ladies,keep your car locked when you are in it and be aware of your surroundings.

That's true because Corrections Officers need an LTC to carry off-duty, IIRC.
