Next they'll be making "less than lethal" bomb for the Air Force to drop. Wouldn't want to kill them Al Quida's so we'll just drop the rubber bomb and maybe bruise them real bad.

Less than lethal rounds are used primarily for crowd control, and since when has crowd control been part of the ARMYs job? I thought they were supposed to kill the enemy. Crowd control is the balliwick of the Police, unless the ARMY is planning on doing some crowd control on the oh so unruly U.S. population.

If you haven't seen it with your own eyes,
or heard it with your own ears,
don't make it up with your small mind,
or spread it with your big mouth.

Yeah, but its only bad if we kill our enemies, it's alright for everyone else to torture and kill their enemies(even when its our soldiers, marines and sailors getting tortured and killed, doesn't seem to affect the libs since they are the first ones to take a step back when uncle sam asks for a hand), the libs got us headed in the right direction. Dont ya think?

There has been research into this for years, mostly in the artillery field. Having a infintely variable power charge is great for howitzer and some other uses. This method of power eliminates the need for a brass cartridge case, primers etc.
Current weapons are very good, for now no huge changes, caseless ammo or gas / spark powered (like above) will be the most likely next step forward in gun designs. Real bullets at full power for me, please!

Yes I remember the Gyro-Jet...from literature, and I have seen one at a gun show. This is a variation of all that kind of work back then. : ))

I can accomplish the same thing by adjusting the powder measure on my reloading press. The only problem is the testing phase to determine the non-lethal charge.
