not in Cali..unless you registered it as an assualt weapon way back when...go buy a Smith enterprises M/B ( I paid about $135 for mine from Midway ) then grab your 20 rd mags and hit the range. Great gun

The flash hider/suppressor is the issue.

On a semi-auto centerfire rifle that uses detachable magazines, it would be illegal in CA on a non-RAW.

On a semi-auto centerfire rifle with a fixed 10 round magazine, it would be legal in CA.

      Therefore...
If you want a flash hider/suppressor on it, you will need a maglock + 10 round magazine.

      IMO...
Install a muzzle brake and keep using detachable magazines.

The SA Inc muzzle brake is very effective that I installed on my Polytech M14/S. I picked the brake on GB cheap, someone changed out theirs for a GI type flash hider.

The 20 round mag I assume is if you already have it before the ban, I'm I right? If not you have to use 10 rounders to comply with the stupid California law.

Yes, a muzzle device/barrel extension styled to look like a flash hider.

Yes sir, no point in having ammo if I dont have a gun to shoot it. Actually just thinned down my calibers over the last few months, sold a .380 Makarov and my 6.5x50 Type 38 Arisaka.

Thanks for the kind words on my Polytech, she is a damn good shooter. First time I took it out hunting I was up in Oregon, nailed a feral Hog at 300yds with Iron sights.

I paid big bucks for one years ago so I could bring my M1A over here. And then I lost it.

Because of President George H. W. Bush's 1989 ban on importing "non-sporting" rifles, you can't add a flash hider or bayonet lug to a Polytech M14 that was imported after the ban unless you want to play the 922(r) parts count game. Adding a mag lock to get the flash hider will get you around California's assault weapon ban, but it won't help you with Bush's non-sporting ban.
