I wonder if you acquire the target and then click a button to "lock" the impact point and it shoots whenever that point is again passed. Not sure of the technology in it, but it sounds like a "blast" to mess around with.

No. You hit a button to tag the target. When you pull the trigger, if the target isn't in the reticle it doesn't fire.

Life Member here. I do not take the "clip" because I wanted to minimize my cost of membership to the NRA. I will go look into the digital edition to see if there was an article posted about this game changing weapon.
