can you sell stuff at a gun range?

specifically, I am talking about the metcalf range.

I saw a guy with a sign taped to his backpack while he was shooting that he was selling some factory ammo.

just curious if anyone does this or if the ROs frown upon this or ban this.

WEGC straight bans it, I can't speak for other ranges. Seems to be range-specific policy.

Most ranges would frown upon it, just not good taste. Its one thing if you have an extra box or two when done shooting and someone next to you needs some so you just sell to them but advertising I would think is in poor taste.

yup ranges are businesses too and they sell ammo, so you would just be taking away customers from them..

Wouldn't see it as a big deal as long as the range doesn't sell ammo.
          Still kind of bad taste.

some get miffed if you ask and then pick up someone elses brass. So I say YES; just like the brass on the ground they think everyone's pocketbook at their range are belong to them.

Thats like a person coming in off the street to a strip club and trying to sell lap dances to all the customers while the strippers are trying to do their job. Sure I didn't get any bites but hey, it was worth a shot for some extra money.

Bad taste is wearing informal clothes at the wrong time, or painting walls purple.

I guess the range can kick the guy to the curb or not, who cares?

Not all ranges sell ammo, but if the range does it seems a little off.

At the Metcalf range, it might not be good form, but, since it is county owned and operated, you aren't taking profits away from the workers. I believe, the range sets their fees based on ranges within a 30 mile radius, so they aren't competing with those ranges.

metcalf doesnt sell anything other than use on the range and targets and of course, eye and ear pro for rent.

i can see that selling targets would be bad taste at this spot in particular.

if they allow it, it seems like a good place to sell primers and powder if you had some for sale. what better place than that to sell it...

You can do nit till you get caught, most of the time they will tell you to leave. I would never sell ammo but I have sold many firearms.

The range that I go to in fresno has a board on the wall so you can post wanted or for sell adds. Cars, guns , boats, ammo pretty much anything. Always that it was pretty cool. But it sounds like no other ranges do that.

                              LOL!

There's a guy who sells hot dogs at Angeles, and Insight has a board near the entrance you can post on.

It's probably frowned upon, but hey, you don't know until you try!
