    Moving to So. Cal. (Maybe?)

I might be moving to Torrance area from Nevada. I know it sounds stupid! Good job. Trouble is I own some guns that I don't know if I am allowed to have there, and I get pretty confused with what I read. Maybe you guys can help me out?

I read on the DOJ list that my colt AR-15 is illegal just because it's a Colt. There's no way I can keep it no matter what I do to it? Right? Even though there are so many other AR-15's that are identical but they are not Colt's... Is this stupid or what?

I have other rifles NOT on the absolute banned list but I have to get a bullet button and whatever else installed on them. I'm thinking about just locking them away and NEVER using them until I retire and move away from CA. Is this a bad idea? Will they somehow be able to arrest me if I never ever take them out of the safe? I hear stories of annonymous tips leading to police searching homes...

Then There are my Glocks. Gen 3 okay, but Gen 4 illegal. WHY? What the heck is this about?

Will these idiotic laws ever be changed in your opnions, or are they to stay forever, and poss. get worst? Say if the Republicans ever get into power in the legislature and a Republican Gov gets elected will it change or is it too late? Not really thinking straight. I'm delerious because I want to keep my guns. Sorry!

About the ARs, you need to follow the AW laws. Note that importing and transporting an AW within the state is a FELONY.

The glocks are legal. The roster does not apply to importing them when you move here.

You do have to register all of your firearms within 60 days of moving here, using the following form:

I would stick the Colt lower in a safe deposit box in NV and leave it there until you return. Any Colt AR15 is banned by name.

Non named rifles which have AW features need to have bullet buttons installed.

DO NOT STORE any illegal rifles in CA- getting caught is not worth it.

Anything questionable can sit in a safe deposit box for something like $100/yr in most NV banks with no worry. The parts are legal and can be kept anywhere in state (** NO Hi-cap mags OR kits now, NO grenade launcher devices).

You can buy a couple of stripped lowers here in calif and use them for your AR's and install a bullet button. Leave the Colt stripped lowers in NV.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

What model Colt is it? Not all Colts are banned, it has to be banned by model.
