problem with pmag gen 2 moe

Hey guys,

Not sure where this belongs, so general gun discussion sounds good to me.

But I bought some rebuild kits before the end of 2013, I wanted to block them to 10/30s. However I cannot get them back together! I know what your thinking, its a pmag how stupid is this guy?

But I cannot get the floor plate (item that connects to bottom of spring) to fit inside the mag body. I have tried everything....but when I compared this when my other pmags I noticed the floor plates are different. The circled one is the I cannot fit in the mag well.





I am hoping someone will know what I am talking about or have a fix for me

I have 10 of these brand new mags(all with the same issue), I don't really want to attempt to trim them if I have the wrong part.

M3 floorplate going into an M2 mag.

That piece doesn't go to those magazines. All the correct parts are there, just set those aside.

There isn't much information online regarding magpul floorplates and which ones belong in each version.

Look on the inside of the plate. It should have a little M3 in the front area.

I bought 10/30 blocks from Magblock for both M2 and M3. They are different. I did have to play around with them to get the button of the floor plate to pop completely through the bottom cap. I had to slide the bottom cover off and work the floor plate up and down a few times because the block was hitting the spring. The floor plates only go in one way.

That's not a follower, it's the bottom part of a M3 Pmag. Look at the pictures I posted above.
