will the new guy be in good stead with a armed populance?
or like the corrupt one leaving office under fire from being investageted?

Things are changing kinda fast. As it best looks right now, Assistant Sheriff McDonald will be running the department until the elections. The Sheriff mentioned such an arrangement with the Board of Supervisors in his retirement speech.

She's been with the department less than a year. All of her prior experience has been with the state prisons. She's never served as a law enforcement officer in the field. It's really hard to tell what direction she'll take the department. My best guess is that she'll try to keep a "steady hand on the helm" until the elections. I don't think we'll see any substantial change until a permanent sheriff is elected.

If you build a man a fire, you'll keep him warm for the evening. If you set a man on fire, you'll keep him warm for the rest of his life.

well any appointed/ chosen/etc person by the outgoing sheriff will tote his anti safe home agenda.

hope in the election the free people of la can get in a good guy.

cause if a pro carry sheriff gets in the seat, the view across the whole state will change for the better.

Do you really believe that the citizens of LA County will elect a pro-gun Sheriff? Most would like to turn the county into Santa Monica.
