So, my inlaws come over and my F-I-L says "I have something for you". You would have to know my F-I-L to know that what he said could mean a million different things. Graciously I ask "What could it be this time?". He pulls out this unassuming metal box that is only about 1 1/2" thick. To thin for a lap top, to thin for the new Sig I want, to thin for ammo and I have no idea what it is.
I open it to find a 1956 training model of a 1911. The thing has moving pieces and was used as a classroom training aid. Being the skeptic that I am I asked "where did you get this?" and he replied he has had it stashed for a while (meaning years) and thought I would like to have it. It just so happens to be as old as I am.
It has pieces of the foam supports all over it but under all that it is spotless. He said there were not very many produced and that it is virtually priceless. Haven't done any checking on it yet but wanted to show off my neewest collectable.
