    Collapsible rifle/pistol target stand **FINISHED**

The idea of a collapsible to four foot in length for stowage yet expandable to a six foot high paper target stand that can be set up on a level to extreme sloped hillside while allowing the target arms to be vertically plumb has been wildly swarming around in my head for quite some time so here it is-one complete stowable leg side-now with this half package acting as a template, I will build the other side to complete the setup.

Level ground where we shoot is at a premium, we shoot safely on our property down in a wide sloping gully so it makes sense to be able to adjust the vertical/plumb target angle on any given degree of slope.

I'll start constructing the second half and post a finished in use target stand when completed.

All I can say is that a lot of drill press time went into this project but I think it turned out well as it does what it's intended for.
The overall height is 75" and can be reduced down to 64" and on that real windy day, 32"
The two lower horizontal braces are expandable from 26" (measurements are inside to inside of the uprights) as shown to 32", 38" and all the way out to 48".
Both sets of target arms are easily replaced if, better yet when they get too shot up.
The second photo shows the range between the nine angle settings.
All pieces are securely nested to each side for storage or transporting.
No tools required for assembly or takedown. Gotta love them wingnuts!

Thanks guys. Being retired and having the time, this whole notion started out that if I could produce one really workable set, maybe I'll produce a dozen or so and sell them to other fellow open land target shooters but after drilling 86 holes just for one set I'll have to re-think that.
I'm pleased with the outcome and have several construction related modifications that will simplify the construction phase but yet keep the original concept in place.
The photo shows the two 48" overall nested side pieces in the back of a small Ford Escape without folding down the rear seat.
At this time I have nothing plan/drawings related put down on paper-this was a project that just evolved from the original perceived concept however the finished prototype is to me a simple yet at this phase, a very time consuming yet fully reproductive template.
Some may say these are technically too over the top while others like me embrace the terrain angle adjustment advantage and the clean knockdown for stowing while not in use.
