    Hi every one I'm thinking of getting some thing new but can't make a choice between a citadel 1911 .45 or a dpms oracle 5.56, Any thought?

    how about the citadel AND a stripped lower? that way you got the 1911 and can build an ar better than a dpms whenever you have the $ and time

        Depends upon what you already own also
        "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
        "What we get away with isn't usually the same as what's good for us"
        "An extended slide stop is the second most useless part you can put on a 1911"

        "While Ruger DA revolvers may be built like a tank, they have the aesthetics of one also,
        although I suppose there are a few tanks which I owe an apology to for that remark"

            My thought? If you want useful suggestions give a lot more info on your situation.

              If money is not an issue I say purchase both firearms.

                That's a hard one to give advice on. Do you want a pistol or a rifle?

                My last decision was a 20" AR or bolt rifle for varmints. Next is .44 or .454 revolver. Those are easier to compare.

                  @Redcliff I own m&p and moss 500.
                  @davidb is building an ar easy or does it require a bunch of special tools

                      Yep, the logical rounding out of the collection is a rifle.

                          Would a a2 style sight and rear handle sight be good or a red dot

                            Personally I would never buy an AR without a carry handle and front sight assembly. But I'm biased because of my military time. I had M68 (red dot) and Eotech holographic sights during my time as well as an ACOG when I got my stripes, neither system was difficult to use with the carry handle stowed away in my assault pack and the front sight assembly still on the rifle.

                              you can buy a complete assembled upper from a lot of companies, the lower is easy to assemble the only tools i use are a brass faced hammer and a punch set...a castle nut wrench would be good to have for tightening the buffer tube down
