    States that ban "assault" rifles

As bad as it is in California, at least we can keep our "assault" rifles as long as we meet certain criteria (mag lock, 10 round limit, registration starting tomorrow, etc.) Does anyone know states in the U.S. that outright ban these rifles. Meaning, no matter what I can not bring an AR or AK into that state without committing a felony? New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Washington, D.C., and certain parts of Illinois come to mind.

I am pretty sure Maryland is one of those communist states now.

I'd hate to imagine living in a more restricted state

Well according to the Brady clowns California is still the number 1 most restrictive state in the country.

Certain cities like Chicago and Denver have their own AWB. Interestingly, Hawaii doesn't have an AWB on rifles but on handguns (features-based).

As soon as California gets features back, all other states will follow.

            Constitution will hold up IMO.

Hate to sound negative, but I doubt that will ever happen in Commiefornia as well. I hope I'm wrong.

Yes, as of 10/1/13. AR-15's are banned, though (for now) they owners of weapons prior to that date are grandfathered in. There is a narrow exception in the HB281 that excluded the Colt HBAR Sporter, but it is no longer mfd, so that is a mute point. It leave a lot of gray areas here, for instance copies of various guns apply throughout the bill as banned, but they are saying that copies of the HBAR may not be permitted.. nobody will sell you a stripped lower, even if you intend to build an HBAR and we don't know about any details until the cases are brought to court and decided, since they have failed to update the COMAR Regs, which define the various interpretations of a bill written by clueless politicians...

Oh, and a 10rd mag limit now, though again, you can keep your hicap mags as long as you purchased them before they were banned.

AFAIK, the following states have "assault weapons" bans...

                      CT
                      HI* (has "assault pistols" ban)
                      MA
                      MD
                      NJ

The 10 round magazine ban AGAIN?
How stupid. Have you seen the video of an interview with some politician somewhere that thought once all these Hi cap magazines were shot you will not be able to buy anymore and you won't be able to use them again? Like they are consumable.

Do you know what effect the law about jail time for a second offense for a mistake of paper work had on the states gun dealers?
I saw a video of a rep. from Beretta saying they had millions of pieces of paper for gun sale in a year.
Odds are NOTHING is perfect a million times.
He thought this law could eventually scare all the gun dealers in the state out of business.
