lousy reasone not to shoot

I have always made time for my hobbies, even when my kids were little i had something to do for myself. i shoot at least every 3 weeks. My family never suffered for me having some fun. i never understood driving kids all over town everyday with soccer etc.

#9 for me, as I was just too lazy to get to the range this past year.

I have no problems leaving the kids & wife at home while I spend a few hours a the range down the street from me, but just never got around to doing it this past year

that is nice but their should be time for both.

We have a particular person in our range group who consistantly talks about how much he wants to go shoot and then the day before or the day of, he backs out saying he has too much "yard work" or that his wife is making him "Work around the house."

Then at the next social event, his wife tells us how she wishes we would invite him to more things.

Then 4 & 10 due to 6 & 7.

Fished a lot this past year. Bought a boat.
Built my diesel truck.
Brewed more beer than I could ever drink myself
Was on a straight razor/sharpening kick for a few months
Spent copious time/$/energy on my '73 bronco (been a 5 year project)

That's just the top ones for the last year.

2 and 10 for me. I'm the only income right now. Plus I have a 10 month old and 3 year old that I have to worry about. Most of my fun money has been going into a college fund for them.

Want to spend time with my kids (2&4) and money is tight. I even sold some of my ammo to help pay down some unexpected medical bills.

I also feel a bit of guilt when I shoot on the weekend because my wife is home with the kids 24/7 during the week and I feel like I should give her a break on Sat/Sun. She does encourage me to go and I plan on getting out more in 2014.

#7 is the biggest culprit for me.

I don't care much for indoor ranges and shoot mostly BLM, and like to make the better part of a day of it.

If there's waves I'm surfing so usually only go shooting if it's flat or blown out.

A friend of mine stated that he stopped going to the indoor range because there were too many idiots there.

I go the my local indoor range every other week and yes I have seen some jerks there. It concerns me a little.
