    Are shops busy lately?

I went into a couple shops today on my way home from work & noticed it was pretty slow -- few employees & even fewer customers...is it the economy? time of day? just the wrong time of year?

I think it's all of the above. Gas, food, cost of living, banks failing on and on.

The shop I work at has been insanely busy lately, and it's getting worse with hunting season opening in august, all the hunters are coming in asking for scope mounts, clean and oils, trigger jobs, bedding jobs and lots of other stuff.

Summers always slow down. That is just retail for you.

I have noticed that I don't think the economy stops some people from buying guns. They think they have to have them.

Its been my experience that summer time business slows down somewhat. Obviously depends on the business but most businesses slow down. partly due to people taking vacations out of town etc. The economy this time slowed it dowm more IMO

We always slow down in summer. This year the slow down came later.

I like it, I have more time with new gun owners.

I swung by the Wildsports in orangevale a few weeks back for a PPT, it was slow, but it was also afternoon on a weekday... and it was Orangevale.

My normal shop Gunz and Stuff is always empty.

As PIRATE said, usually slows down in the summer, but this summer is already much busier than last.

Wait, they're optional? My wife is going to be *pissed* when she finds out what "one handgun per month" REALLY means...
