Large revolver (at least .44) and hearing protection(if there's time for it).

If it were legally permissible, you bet I would. If not, definitely not. I wouldn't get anything high powered, a 9mm at the most, as over penetration would be a huge concern.

Is it legal to open carry something on your hip inside your own business? What about concealed (without a CCW)?

I'm pretty sure you can open carry or concealed carry at your workplace if your employer allows it. I'd keep a .45 XD under the counter.

I would CC an XD45 if it were my store.

Hypothetically? A claymore. The mine, not the sword. Guaranteed to erase would-be robbers on contact!
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!

A small revolver (S&W 638) in my pocket, and a pump 12ga under the counter.

Hypothetically speaking, something easy to get to and draw quickly w/o worrying about catching the barrel on anything. I'd go w a compact to get off the first shot.
