    Holding for a friend

So my sisters boyfriend whom she lives with, just informed me that he was keeping a Chinese sks with a 30 round mag for a friend that was moving here from Arizona.

Had he been caught with this firearm and mag, what sort of felonies and jail time would he be looking at?

They may try but most likely it would be reduced, a lot, depending on background , lawyer etc.

tell your sister to have her boyfriend put it in a box and seal it with his name on it.
it might keep her from going to jail.
tell her not to bail out her boyfriend.
felonies and it will take a lawyer to get them reduced.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

If he replaced the 30 rd magazine with the original stock fixed magazine, wouldn't it be legal to keep then?

                Maybe.

That does not clear the illegal interstate transfer, AZ resident to CA resident. Federal felony for giver and receiver.

if they were caught, arent they in jail already? or did they post bail?

its like you are saying they were caught, but then asking advice about modding the gun to make it legal...

edit: nm, just re-read it.... long 12hr shift at work today, nice x-mas pay though

Nah he told his friend to come and get it asap. My sister flipped. I just wanted him to know the risk he put himself and my sister in.

Stop posting this garbage on a public gun forum monitored by LE and anti-gun groups.

Seek professional advice from a lawyer.

Gun crimes are taken very seriously in this state and abroad.
