Brushes are cheap, you don't have to be.
It's pretty much universally recommended that you don't do that anyway. Full passes only. On the rifle barrels I really care about I only pull from the chamber to muzzle then remove the brush, reinsert the rod, reattach the brush and repeat.

I picked up a sonic cleaner for miscellaneous parts and will throw the brushes in now.
Really a nice way to save on brake cleaner. Still use it as needed, but the sonic seems almost magical to this guy.

The reason I am aware of is the brush might get stuck and take some force to remove.

The muzzle crown is possibly the most important factor in accuracy of a barrel, if the crown has wear it will effect accuracy, if you run a brush into the muzzle it will have a tendency to prematurely wear the muzzle.

The full stroke recommendation is to always push or pull a brush from the breach out the muzzle for the least amount of wear. Never push or pull a brush back in from the muzzle side.
weg: That device is obsolete now. They replaced it with wizards.
frank: Wait a minute. There are more than one wizard? Is [are?] the wizard calibrated?

                    ^^^^
Pulling from the muzzle means you need to insert the rod from the muzzle which maybe you could damage your crown doing this.

I use a bore guide and only brush from breach to muzzle- unscrew the brush, pull out the rod, attach brush and repeat as necessary.

Some people "short stroke" the brush- getting near the crown, and pull back. Their logic is that it saves time, and doesnt wear the crown because the brush doesnt get to the crown.. I dont recommend that, and see the other posts above about reversing direction....
