    Is there away?

    Can I buy a handgun, through personal sale... from someone who is out of state.. and the handgun is not on the roster? if I have it shipped through an FFL

    Yes IF it's over 50 years old and arrives before 1-1-14.

    Otherwise no.

        Are you saying that the "curio and relic" exemption to the Roster is going away next year. I haven't seen any mention of this on the forum.

            There was a bill (AB169) on Governor Brown's desk to ban the single shot exemption to the Roster for handguns that have been temporarily modified into single shot status, but Brown vetoed it. He said that he would gladly sign such a bill if it didn't also restrict private party transfers the way AB 169 would have.

              He'll also need the parts, likely a custom barrel for example, and he'll need an FFL that wants to deal with it (most won't).

                Depends on the model of gun. There are lots of FFLs that have the parts on hand to do several makes and models.
