Started shooting with my uncle at 6 years old, so that would be 43+ years.

this poll needs to be redone with more years! what a bunch of geezers we've got here!

I'm at about 6 years here. I was not raised in a home with firearms, but did go shooting when i was 10. However, I don't consider the time between then and 6 years ago as "shooting time"

Technically Ive been shooting since I could walk, but when my parents split when I was 6, my dad had all the guns and my mom became an anti because she hated anything associated with my dad. So from then until my 18th bday, I was only able to shoot at other peoples' mercy

Well there is a good thing about us old geezers, that is the memories of cheap ammo and walking into the LGS and asking to look at the Uzi on display, checking out non bullet button rifles, along with all those inexpensive standard capacity magazines! Hopefully in the not so distant future, the youngsters on this forum will know those joys too!

^^^The above is just an opinion.

40 years this year. Still have my first rifle, a Browning SA .22LR.
I've never seen an American flag burned at a gun show.

31 years for me and some of my fondest memories with my late father. He started me at five on a nylon66.

I had to pick 15 years or more, but I shot a lot as a kid and young adult then took 30 years off of shooting before I returned.

I took by first shot in 1960 shooting a H and R .22 that is currently hanging in the safe. On my grandparents ranch, shooting was a necessity and a way of life. Most of my early years was focused on rifles and shotguns for hunting and predator control. Handguns have been the focus for the last 10 years.
