Can a gun shop install scopes for you?

I am not too familiar with installing scopes. I have a Remington 700 sps .308 wondering if ammo Bros in Cerritos installs them correctly for you. I don't want to install it myself and have crooked aim. And not just ammo Bros any gun shop in the LA area. Also what would the cost be? Any info greatly appreciated

Yes, most gun shops will install them for you...for a price.

You may be better off finding another Calgunner local to you and enlisting their help.

Yes some shops can, but you probably wouldn't want them to.

Assuming they had the absolute basic skills required to turn the screws to spec with a torque wrench, that doesn't necessarily get the scope where you want it for the eye relief.

Call Ammo Bros. tomorrow yourself and ask if they'll do it, and also ask if they'll actually help you set the scope for proper eye relief for you(not for whoever is installing it). If it costs any more than a few bucks, get yourself an inch/pound torque wrench(that wheeler FAT wrench is available all over the place) and watch a video on youtube(there are tons) and do it yourself, also noting that you now have a tool that allows you to get your action screw torque consistent every time. Just follow the instructions that came with the mount and rings to see what their requirements are for the torque specs for the various screws involved.

Alternatively, the poster above has a good idea as well, since it really only takes a couple of minutes to do unless you want to go the route of bedding bases and lapping rings(which the shop likely wouldn't include unless you pay a bunch more money, and probably isn't something you should spend much time concerning yourself with at this point anyway).

        Might charge you <$50

Just try to install it yourself. Plenty of youtube videos out there.

You just need a torque wrench, balance tool and some blue loctite. Pretty easy

Except for the manufacturers that specify not to use loctite(that's part of the point of torquing things to spec, unless you actually do start running into screws backing out, which they shouldn't. But even then a tiny bottle of BLUE loctite is cheap. Not red, not green. Purple or blue), and leveling the rifle is simple enough then just point the scope at a vertical object(weighted string, actual plumb bob, etc) and line up the reticle.

I know of a shop who will charge $400 labor to install a scope, and install it wrong (Gunsmith gives the task to his dimwit son)

Install if yourself. Save money and learn something very useful.

I'm a young gun owner (22 Yrs young) I just wanted a budget long range rifle. I don't have tools to bed or lapping. I can get a torque wrench no issue.

Millions of scopes have been installed without a torque wrench. It is nice to have one but not necessary.
Stay away from any locktite but if you must use: only use the BLUE locktite.
If you were closer I would show you how and get the proper eye relief and mount your scope including lapping the rings. Lapping is good but not a must do.
The best way to do that is to close your eyes and shoulder your rifle. Then open your eye(s) and you should be able to see properly thru the scope. You should not need to move your head forward or back to get a proper full scope picture. Same goes for up and down. If that is off you need different height rings which is the main reason a 50 or 56mm objective lens are a mistake. They make you have to move your head up to see thru the scope properly. You also want the scope as close to the barrel as possible.

HINT: If it is to be a hunting rife a 3X9X40 or 3.5X10X40 scope(Leupold) is all you will ever need. I have taken quite a number of game animals at ranges from 300 to 600+ yards with the above scopes.
If it is for target shooting only then a higher power scope can be usefull.

Bought only the rings from Camarillo Shooter's Supply and the owner Scotty mounted the scope and bore sighted it at no extra charge.

Mount a weighted string to the ceiling (like a string with a lead weight on the end)
Place bubble mount on weaver mounts (or whatever rail that you are using)
                              Loosely mount the scope
Bring rifle to shoulder as if you were going to fire it
Slide scope towards or away from you (without moving your head) to find propper eye relief
Relax rifle and then shoulder it again..scope still good?
Now level the rifle using the bubble level
Once leveled, (do not move rifle) look through scope at string hung from ceiling
Line up vertical crosshairs with string
Snug scope mount bolts to spec (usually around 25-30 in. lbs.)
Shoulder rifle again, everything look good?
                              Done.
