    I bought a 17. I got no need for 1/2 a grip.

I bought a 17 about 10 years ago.....and didn't buy another Glock until this year....because I hadn't found one I liked better....shoots like a Cadillac and feels like a sports car in my hands....I have shot 7-8 different models, and I think the 17 is the best for me

For what purpose, CCW, night stand, range work, social work, etc?

Regardless, I'm partial to the G19.

The 19 is the most well rounded. Good capacity, good slide length, nearly full size grip all the while being very concealable.

I have both and cant really tell a difference when shooting them. 17 only gives you two more rounds (but those mags work in a 19 too) and a slightly longer slide and grip. None of which I find to be an advantage in your typical self defense situation.

So if I could only have one it would be the 19. It was my first handgun purchase.

I've shot both and owned both. Both are great but if I had to choose one, I'd stay with the 19 just because its like an all around purpose handgun. CCW, home defense, training, shooting matches, plinking, etc.

                  YMMV

I have both. Had the 19 for much longer so naturally I favor it over the 17, but objectively speaking, for a range & HD handgun I would probably go with the G17. Can't deny the benefits of a longer sight radius and better grip

If your making a poll why didn't you make a pole thread? lol

A month ago I would have said 17. But I gatta say the 19/23 grip is my preferred not sure if its still the honey moon phase but I have no interest for my Glock 17 right now.

I've got a 17. I like the full sized pistols myself, I've shot a 19 and both are great guns. CCW is not in my future until I move out of the state in a few years so it's not something I considered when I bought the 17. I'd like a 32 or 33 for a CCW.

I'm counting on the 19 being the more popular choice here, though, everyone seems to like it.
