Pick up gun from FFL with temporary ID???

I (think) I have a dilemma and need some of you to clarify for me. I currently have a couple of different handguns in 10-day-jail and a couple of different dealers. I am going in this week to test for a class-A CDL. I assume that the DMV will take my class-C license and issue me a temporary while they fiddle around with mailing me my new license.

So what's the consensus? Will the dealers send me walking empty-handed if I no longer have a pictured California driver's license in my possession when I go to pick up the guns????????

I can certainly put the testing off for a week, but I'd rather not.

As long as it has your name info and address I don't see why your have a problem. But again because it should be accepted doesn't mean all shops will.

Shoot them a ring before you go in and play it safe. I've been rejected a couple times at shops for not wanting to accept something that should be compliant. But after all it is their business and license that is at stake so you can't blame them for playing it safe and not accepting something they "think" or a customer says should work.

Yeah... One of the shops is owned by a friend. Not worried about that one. Problem is that the other is closed Sundays and Mondays. I want to make an appointment to get the DMV out of the way on Monday. So getting in touch with the shop in question isn't an option.

They do not take your Class C, they issue a piece of paper to go along with your Class C. You get to keep your pictured DL.

You guys were correct. Now awaiting the arrival of my Class-A but I still have my original C-M1 in my pocket. So all gun deals are still a GO!

UMM you already DROSd it, you dont need an ID to pick it up, they should have a copy along with all the DROS paperwork

Just FYI, my buddy who is holding one of them says the hard-rule is that I have to have government-issued photo-ID to pickup even though I had to show it at the beginning of the ten-day period. Silly... Luckily, not an issue though.
