Whats going on with 357 magnum target rounds

Why are these so hard to come by and for a affordable price, 556 - 9mm - 45acp and 308 prices have dropped back down to nearly affordable pricing but 357 magnum seems to be sky rocketing to the $35 to $40 range for target ammo. I bought some boxes a couple of years ago and it was $17.99 a box of 50 target rounds.
Its seems just as hard to find in plentiful supply and i haven't seen any come up in the for sale section on calguns in along time.
Are manufactures cutting back on production of revolver ammo, thus the pricing is way higher, whats going on.

That's what 38 specials are for.

+1 for 38 specials, if you have your heart set on the MAGNUM either pay the price or start reloading.

Every ammo manufacturer has been running 24/7.
They are making the most popular/ highest volume items

I don't know what percentage of ammo made by volume is .357 mag but it has got to be a small % of all small arms ammo made each year

Most of what I have seen in .357 is imported or made by small outfits for hunting- such as buffalo bore.

The good news is that 38/357 is super easy to reload

You can buy 1,000 rounds of brass and a simple single stage press and reload your own
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
        (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

Thats about what it costs me as well.

Even better It costs me $116 to load 1000 9mm, or $5.83 per 50. I could cast bullets for 9mm and that would bring down the cost to like $2.58 but its easier to just buy Xtreme plated. Sure was worth getting into reloading dont you agree?

Manufactured stuff comes up for $20-$25 pretty regularly lately. These jokers may or may not ship to your city, but they have some WOLF GOLD .357 SJHP for $24 a box (brass cased, boxer, reloadable)

I got some .357 JHP CCI BLAZER from them this month for around the same price $22 but I also got a $15 gift card back on that order so it was an even better deal.

Cabelas has cheap PPU and Fiocchi .357 and .38 FMJ practice ammo alot. Right now they have some PMC E-Range Environmental Safe stuff for about the same price as .357 but it is in stock.
