Can someone please tell me what gun laws are going into effect on January first? I hear so many different things. Some say certain ones were vetoed some say they weren't. Please clarify for me if you can.

All the new gun laws.

Prospective long-gun registration and the end of cash and carry C&R's, to name a couple. -
So rifles we own currently or future purchases? What about 80% ers? And ARs in general? Still rifles or assault weapons now?Comment

IIRC Longs guns purchased through a dealer will all be registered at the time of DROS. And no, the law regarding all semiautos becoming "assault weapons" was vetoed by moonbeam. I'm sure if I'm wrong someone will come along and correct me.Sorry, not sorry.

The big ones for most of us....
- Long gun registration - we knew this was coming for years though.
- Buying/importing/selling rebuild kits is no longer allowed. Possession of kits purchased prior to new year are ok though
- 80% lowers still legal, but all the machine shops seemed to have been shut down by the ATF, so plan on buying a jig and a drill press.
- SSE still legal and no changes on that frontComment

so whats the last day i can dros a long gun, i was told december somthing,Comment

Yeah the shop I did my lower at got raided and the CNC machines confiscated but no charges filed against the owners or workers. Effing ridiculous.Comment

From what I understand, we can DROS a long-gun the way we have always been doing it until the end of this year. Starting next year, each long-gun will be on an individual DROS basically just like handguns. No more buying five lowers and paying one $25 DROS fee, for instance.
You can walk into a gun store on December 31st and buy 10 lowers, put it on a single $25 DROS, and pick up within a month even if it's into 2014 and it will still not be registered.Comment

not that it affects me but Id like confirmation of this. you really have to pay a fee per gun in 14? thats ridiculous. From what I understand, we can DROS a long-gun the way we have always been doing it until the end of this year. OP, think you're confused now? Ask employees at the local gun stores. I ran into one who isn't even close on some laws. So glad he's not in sales! With all this "gun control" talk, I've not heard one politician say how they plan on taking guns from criminals, just law abiding Citizens.

In Australia they took their guns. Gun owners lined up for miles to have their rifles cut in half on a table saw with a metal cutting blade. Like lambs led to slaughter.Comment

I've read some mention in the FFL forum that we will actually be able to DROS longguns and handguns together in multiple for one fee. From what I understand, we can DROS a long-gun the way we have always been doing it until the end of this year.
