Title says it all. Thinking of changing mine from what I use now. I'll show what I use now and why after a few post as not to bias the thoughts.

I am also zeroed at 100 yards with my saiga. That is usually the farthest I shoot it but I have taken it out to 200 yards before and I had more success hitting the steel plate with my dads 186 series mini 14.

My understanding is that if you're zeroed for 50 you will be dead on at 200 and 2-2.5" high at 100.

That about covers my range and accuracy demands for my x39 firearms.

100 yards. I zero all my 7.62x39 AK's and 5.56 AR's at 100. I generally shoot from 50 yards out to 300 with them, and the 100 yard zero seems to work well.

No need to guess, there are many online ballistic programs available. Looks like a 100 yard zero will give you a 3" window to about 175 yards. But at 300 yards, you will be more than 20" low.

Thanks guys. I am currently using a 25 yard zero and am looking hard to switch to the 50 yard zero. Before I did that I just wanted to see what others are using to make sure someone out there didn't do better DD and ballistic math than me and have better option. I know there are differences in specs and brand but generally the 50 yard zero seems better. I found this one to be about as close to my stuff as any

                  25 yard zero:
                  25 yard: dead on
                  50: 3" high
                  100: 7" high
                  200: 8" high
                  250: 6" high
                  300: 1" high

                  50 yard zero:
                  25 yard: 1" low
                  50: dead on
                  100: 1" high
                  200: 2" low
                  250: 7" low
                  300: 14" low

Guess this means another range day!

Still interested in hearing other opinions and why but I'm all set on the 50 yard zero.

                  Thanks

I use a 200yrd zero. This puts me about an inch high at 50yds, several inches high at 100yds, dead on at 200yds and about 6inches low at 300yds. This allows me to easily keep rounds in the torso of a man sized target. This is shooting 154Gr SP ammo from an EOTech w/3xmultiplier equipped Saiga.

100m zero, beyond that I'm just moving the dust cloud until its on the target.

Thanks Steve, exactly why I'm still was interested in more options. Very interesting, I'll have run that with my ammo. I should pack a lunch on the next range day and try it too if mine comes close to your findings
