Today was a great day.....
To synopsize, my client is a 65 year old lady whose husband had died recently. They are farmers and have a great deal of resources. Her son, a 43 year old heroin addict was giving her hell.
Thru the course of my work, the client decided she needed to learn how to shoot her husband's pistol. I met her at "The Range" where I am a member and we started to work. The husband's pistol was a 2" Taurus .357, probably the worst choice for the lady. We tried to make it work, but at 7 yards, she could not comfortably put 5 rounds in the black. I watched her struggle with the long DA trigger, and figured she needed a new gun.
Kudos to the staff at The Range, since they understood what I was trying to do, and provided a host of pistols to try out. The client wound up with a Glock 26. She dumped 10 into the 10-ring at 7 yards quickly, and smiled. "I want one of these."
We now have a total pro-2A elder who had a great time today, thanks to the staff at The Range. They also sold a G-26, a gun safe and will sell a lot more stuff soon to this new gun owner.
I had a great time helping a nice lady teaching her the basics, helping her buy her first gun, and in general getting her back on her feet.
And I got to hang out in a gun shop all day....
