    Optics planet

    I know optics planet reputation is less than stellar, which I agree. I just wanted to share my recent experience with them.

    I made 2 orders from them recently. The first took two weeks to get to me and everything was in stock. The riflescope that was part of the order wasn't in stock, and I was told it would be in a week. I said no problem. 3 weeks later I cancelled the $950 riflescope.

    The second order was for a cleaning kit and cleaning supplies and everything was in stock. They sent me a notification saying everything shipped. When the order arrived the cleaning kit was missing. When I called they said they didn't know why it wasn't included and confirmed again it was in stock. I asked for upgraded shipping because I was leaving town for a week and they told me it had to go through logistics and they would contact me ASAP. So I cancelled the order and requested a refund the next dday because they didn't get back to me. It's been a couple of days and still haven't recieved my refund. I hope it doesn't become too big of a hassle t get my money back.

    Regardless, I'm no longer a optics planet customer. They Suck!

    LOL. Everyone goes to Optiks planet cuz' its CHEAP. Clearly... the old cliche still holds true no matter how all you want to think otherwise... YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!!

      I never had a real problem with them...I recently purchased a Aimpoint Pro for less than $370 with a coupon.. Delivered quickly and Free shipping....Your mileage may vary!!!

          I'm sorry to hear that you've had some delays, and even moreso ordering something and not getting all of your items! Sometimes delays happen, but 3 weeks is excessive, and I completely understand your frustration. Furthermore, I'm not sure why you didn't get your cleaning kit, but we definitely should've gotten a replacement to you faster with upgraded shipping.             Thanks for your reply and your effort to do some damage control. But there were problems with both orders.

            I didn't mind waiting another week for the scope, which the lady who took the order explained. But it took way more than a week and is still not in stock according to the website. In fact it says ships in 7-16 days when I ordered and still does to this day. So I ordered the scope from another vortex dealer and it actually shipped the next day, which I don't think is too much to ask for.

            In regard to the second order which was a cleaning kit and extra jags, brushes, patches, and a bore guide for my new gun. And to not put the cleaning kit in is just plain carelessness and laziness. And your right, it should have been offered with upgraded shipping, but it wasn't. Even after I explained that I'm going out of town in the next week and it wasn't going to be ok to have the package left on my porch while I was gone. The phone operator only explained she can just put the request in. So I cancelled the next day cause it wasn't ok.

            The refund taking a few days isn't abnormal to me, if there appears to be a problem, I will contact you first.

            Thanks for your effort, but there are just too many options for me to try again with optics planet after this.

              A couple of years back, I ordered two items from Optics Planet---one was in stock---got it in a couple of days---the other was backordered---got it a month later---no real issues with them here...

                Recently I ordered the Bushnell PCL from Optic Planet but a week after the order my item still wasn't shipped. I PM'ed Optic Planet here and Chase took care of it right away. It was shipped on that day. Let's be honest, with the volume that optic planet moves on a daily basis mistakes are going to happen. We can resolve this by reaching out to them here.

                      I made an order recently & asked if they had any coupons & the guy lowered the price 20% plus free shipping!

                        I haven't had any issues with them. I just ordered a Bushnell TRS-25 that is in stock according to their site. I'm hoping it gets here before my CX4 gets shipped to my FFL and out of jail (maybe 2 weeks with Thanksgiving). I'll keep ya informed if it's later than that ...

                          +1 here - not trying to discredit some of the stories I have read online but I haven't had a single issue with orders from Optics Planet, and 1 positive experience where they expedited something to get to me before a class.

                          I don't envy them running a huge operation where one douche bag can leave a bad taste in a customers mouth and it's really hard to recover from bad PR now days.
