I like my Mini-14, stainless, but it is illegal to put on a folding stock and/or flash supressor. Large capacity magazines are ok as long as they are no stamped LEO, Law Enforcement Only.

I used to have all the nice guns until 1995 when I got arrested for a 240PC, simple assault, and they took my guns away. I had a great collection of some very nice weapons, which most of them now have been banned in California.

I think every American should own at least an M1 Garand and an AR-15.
I'm not specifically a fan of the AR-15, but it is the modern equivalent of the minuteman's musket. It shares parts, magazine, and ammo commonality with the standard issue long arm for the nations military.

As far as the Garand, well it's part of our history, the rifle that helped win WWII, and still a very formidable weapon in its own right.

The marking on the magazines don't mean a damn thing. They could say "not for civilian use under penalty of death". It still wouldn't mean anything.

The LEO only markings are leftovers from the federal ban that has since expired.

What would you think about an AK in 5.56 with an AR-15 magazine adapter like the Definitive Defense AK instead of an AR-15?

It can take STANAG mags, is super reliable, and with a set of replacement springs it could run for practically ever.
