Yes. The more presence pro-gun people seem to have, the better for us.

The greater the political threat voting gun owners seem to have, the more reluctant they'll be to pass legislation. The reason they went so nuts this time is because they think we're too small of a minority to vote them out. Anything to counter that perception is beneficial.

Didn't get to talk to the Gov but I was nearby in the same room. I asked one of his staff members, it may have been his Chief of Staff, to pass along my gratitude for his veto of SB374 and the ammo bill. His security chief was standing there and when he heard me he chuckled. I told him that I appreciated the Governor giving serious consideration or small business owners and all California citizens who aim to protect themselves with semi auto rifles that are common firearms. I was specific about the wording. Hopefully the message got to the Governor.

Say what you want about the Gov... but he's the first one I've heard of that specifically reads through each and every bill that gets to his desk.

These days, that's a sad, sad state of affairs, when it should be the absolute prerequisite.

If I had the chance I would have thanked Gov Brown and stated I was a gun owner.
I was doing military duty in the early 90's either in Japan or Korea. Upon arriving either at Narita or Seoul. I saw Robert McNamara just in the crowd walking my himself. Maybe I should have thanked him for the Vietnam war after his confessions about the Gulf of Tonkin incident. Dont know what his reaction would be.

Thank him for what? Not vetoing a law that was destined for a smackdown in court before the ink dried? If they can clean up the wording and make the next version a little less blatantly unconstitutional than the previous version, he'll sign it in a heartbeat.

Yes thank him ! Anytime we can postpone bad legislation its a win .

He doesn't need gunowners or our auspices. I consider his veto a favor and I did not vote for him nor expect a veto .
