Ah... what precisely do you mean by "Fixed mag"? How "fixed" should it be. Choose one of the choices below.

      1. Screwed on
      2. Bolted on
      3. Glued on
      4. Welded on
      5. Attached with a titanium chain
      6. Attached with alien technology
      7. Invisibly and irreversibly attached by an act of God
      8. Attached by a method even the DOJ doesn't understand

I just wanted to make this crystal clear in the light of current events.

Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch: And the Lord spake, 'First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to 3. No more. No less. 3 shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be 3. 4 shalt thou not count, nor either count thou 2, excepting that thou then proceed to 3. 5 is right out. Once the number 3, being the third number, be reached, then, lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.'

Why would something like an SKS need a fixed mag? I didn't think it had any other SB23 features.

BECAUSE ANY SKS WITH A DETACHABLE MAGAZINE IS CLASSIFIED AS AN ASSAULT WEAPON REGARDLESS OF FEATURES.

The number of times that we have said a detachable magazine sks is already an AW since 1989 is staggering, where have you been???
                  Please, calm down.

I generally pay no attention to SKS-talk. What happened in 1989 that would ban the SKS? Hell, I didn't even know there were detachable and non-detachable mag SKS's for that matter.

I know there was some SNAFU with the SKS's being banned, then bought back from registrations after the 90-day period, but I also see them for sale.

depends on what you're looking for. i've some at "Gun Shop
1595 Pomeroy Ave Santa Clara, CA" and a couple in city arms not too long ago.

but why not get something from http://southernohiogun.com/surplusrifles.html or find something on gunbroker?
