    need help:80% lower AR-15(got screwed)

    HI,
I am hoping someone out there has a solution for what looks like a simple fix.
I bought a 80% lower from the s.f cow palace and threw away my receipt.so, i am not sure which mfg it came from. just realized where the bolt action release will go is (not drilled out).i have already machined the middle.give me some ideas. i am near san jose and do not mind driving to a shop if you know of any.
    thanks

    pictures?

and, not totally 100% sure, but i don't think you can get your 80% receiver milled out unless you do it yourself. there are threads on here about that.

Pics if you could. If it is just the little hole, that is easy. It is a bit more complex if you need to mill the entire groove, but if you managed with the fire control pocket, it shouldn't be too hard. Different manufactures try to stay legal different ways by leaving out key features.

Could you be more clear in what your question is? Are you building a bolt action AR?

OP, bolt release not drilled for the spring pocket or not drilled for the roll pin?

By all means... post up some pics. There are lots of good experienced builders here the bay area than can point you in the right direction.

My guess is the roll pin. That would be a tough mother to drill. Would need some sort of extension to mount the drill bit, but small enough in diameter to clear the side of the lower. Something like a 1/4" rod end drilled to the size of the roll pin; glue the bit in and have at it.

If that is all, there is a drill bit that isn't "common", but it is called an aircraft bit. It is basically just a 6" drill bit. Cheap and available when needed:

You might find it at a tool store, or have it shipped and pay more for shipping than the bit.

yup, all you need is the right drill bit. all us old timers that did 80%'ers when you had to drill all the holes had to drill that bolt hold open pivot pin. there are jigs out there designed to help you with that hole if you need help. http://cncguns.com/tooling.html

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

From cncguns it looks like this is the exact part you need:

I was putting an ENCO order together and saw those aircraft drills. I was surprised they are down to 1/16". That would be one easy to snap or bend drill...
