    PSA quality control issues

Two year ago, bought some rifle kits and built some guns for my kids, and the quality was great, packing great, everything was awesome.

Bought some more rifle kits delivered yesterday, and the first one opened is all dinged up, found rust near where the barrel screws in, packaging was not at all useful to help protect the contents. (I have yet to open the others)

Is this just a fluke, or is this what PSA is sending out now?

I dont know what PSA is sending out, apparently some of their barrels are FN?

But, I do know they usually take awhile to ship and part of the price for me is the ability to get it quickly, so I stopped using them. Not really anything against them, I just dont like their wait times.
People have been talking about their QC slipping since the beginning of the year though.

I gotta say, some of these 400-600$ complete rifle kits are pretty tempting though.

'Swamped' they seem to be a bit overwhelmed by the volumes these days. When the pressure is on the first thing that goes is attention to detail. This is true for everyone - not just a PSA thing.

This why I always stress (at work) get it right first then worry about doing it fast. Fast and wrong costs everyone time, hassle and $$$.

There must be a serious over stock of AR stuff. In '12, PSA was bumping prices on all their stock. This year mainly OOS until recent months.

I've had pretty good luck with their QC - I ordered, and paid for, one (1) trigger guard and they sent me a bag of ten (10).

The assembly lube or grease they use is a brownish-reddish color and looks like rust. 3 of the uppers I have gotten from them have it in the barrel extension, and it comes out easily with the initial cleaning.

That's it right there - no matter how many negative posts pop up, people are still going to bite with those prices (take a look at the Black Friday Preview Thread).

*I have ordered from them in the past and no issue with the quality of items received. The time between order and receipt of items, however, was unreasonable IMO.

                  PSA

Everything I "EVENTUALLY" receive is GOOD stuff, but man they have jacked up orders too many times to count. Sent me the wrong caliber upper once, sent me an upper without the included CH and BCG another time. And sent me a 16" upper rather then the pinned 14.7 that I had ordered another time..................but I simply CANNOT resist their killer deals therefore I put up with the snails pace lead times(which I understand) and the hit or miss order accuracy.

I agree a bit of everything here

I have ordered a lot from PSA. I agree with what most have posted here. They may be overwhelmed, they are getting a lot of orders, and they are currently moving building right now. I have always a great experience with there customer service dept. Give them a call, they have always been helpful and friendly. Good luck I hope it all works out.

Recently ordered an MOE M4 upper. Everything came was correct, and got it in about a week and a half. No complaints here.
