    UPDATE---
Kimber finally called me back, they said they had an "internal discussion" and found that since the gun was not modified from the factory and indeed it was their engineering error that is causing the problems they agreed to replace the slide free of charge.

After having some issues recently, I sent the gun back about a couple weeks ago, I called kimber today and the guy said my bill is $225 for the new slide, and that they do not replace the slides free, but on a "case by case basis" looks like they want me to pay for their engineering mistakes... I sent them a certified letter today requesting the gun to be returned to me if they are not going to fix it... I've sent guns back for repairs from many manufacturers and i've never been charged more than the cost to ship the gun to them... this is ridiculous...

So Kimber needs an internal discussion to conclude that it was a designing flaw? What a joke.

            Kimber,
You guys make beautiful guns I have to give you that; but your CS, no take it back, your management sucks!

OP, I am glad your issue has been resolved!
