Ive dealt with Ann on my tritium sights fading prematurely.
We emailed back and forth and I had two phone calls with her...SHE SUCKS to deal with.
She was totally rude, unprofessional and unwilling to work with me (though they were under warranty). I basically demanded that they replace them free under warranty and made a big stink about it.
They eventually did replace them under warranty (as it should have been). I love my Kimber, but I must say that she drags my overall feelings of the company way down.

I' am a big fan of Kimber pistols...I' am not however a big fan of their Customer Service. I got some XS sights and called around locally to get an install. No one wanted to touch it so I called Kimber expecting they would install any sights I sent them as long as I paid for the work (ON THEIR) gun.... Sergio the CS monkey said they only install the Mepro's... Well hey there buddy here's a big /Finger to your company.... I know what brand of firearm I' am never buying again. To think I always stuck up for them too pfft...

My 2002 vintage Kimber Custom Shop Eclipse is a fantastic piece. I've been wanting a Raptor... Too bad Kimber has become a bad CS company...

After having some issues recently, I sent the gun back about a couple weeks ago, I called kimber today and the guy said my bill is $225 for the new slide, and that they do not replace the slides free, but on a "case by case basis" looks like they want me to pay for their engineering mistakes... I sent them a certified letter today requesting the gun to be returned to me if they are not going to fix it... I've sent guns back for repairs from many manufacturers and i've never been charged more than the cost to ship the gun to them... this is ridiculous...
Wait a sec ... more is needed -- details of what they found, serial number or series, etc.

So based on your acquaintances' experience, you sent your Kimber in expecting the same experience. After Kimber tells you the replacement is on a case-by-case basis, you attribute your gun failure to their engineering?

            That's A LOT of assumptions.

So what was the cause and what were their actual findings to deny your "free" replacement? If replacement is on a case-by-case, they must have found something they determined is not their fault. What did they find?

Because they replaced your friends' slide and not yours is not enough cause to call out a manufacturer.

I have one and has been repaired within the warranty period. I hope nothing happens now since out of warranty also.

That sucks. I won't buy a 1911 with an external extractor, only internal. Which is what my Kimber has. 2,000+ rounds without a single extraction issue.

Not pleased with Kimber for failing to stand by their product and fix it under warranty/FUBAR design flaw.

Sad to hear about Kimber CS. They have the slide for my Pro Carry because the Mepro front sight I put on it went dim within a couple of weeks. Sure hope they don't screw around on me and honor their warranty....

                        Don't mean to threadjack but...

Just got off the phone with Kimber. They are blaming the dim front sight on me and want to charge me for replacement (weird, cause I used a sight pusher tool). I refused the repair. They even charged me for return shipping.

I will keep my Kimber (it shoots well) but I will never buy another one if that is how their customer service works.

They said they would call me back and I still have not heard anything, I'll call them back after thanksgiving to check. As for their issues, they only used the external extractor for a short time, and went back to the internal extractor because they were having a lot of problems with them. Obviously its a design that didnt work out for them so they switched back.

This is why I chose the Springfield instead of the Kimber.
The Kimber is better looking but I have had no issues with my SA and it has a lifetime warranty.

this. you pay for their goofy external extractor twice.

their external ext needs some improvement and so does their CS if they are trying to get you to pay for new slide. next time go springfield if you havent already

You need to call them. When I called they had already looked at it but instead of calling me right away they were waiting for some reason. Their long delay means I won't have my Kimber for my CCW class this weekend....a huge hassle all around.
