Hello all, I went to sight in a 30-06 today and sighted it in for POI at 200 yards. I started at 25 yards and worked my way up. Question I had was when I set it at 25-100 the windage was spot on, but when I moved to 200 yards I had to change the windage by quite a few clicks. Did I make a mistake to change the windage because now if I shoot closer then 200 yards will it be off?

Possibly your rear sight does not go up and down in a perfect (or nearly so) vertical line. You can test this by setting your rifle up with the sights bottomed out and taking a shot at a target. Then bump the elevation a click or two and take another shot, and so on. You have to aim at the same spot for each shot, of course, and don't touch the windage knob.
You are looking to see if your shots go up the paper vertically rather than angling off.
