    Ammo availability?

I started pursuing other hobbies at the beginning of the year due to there being little ammo, but I've had a new gun since May and I've yet to shoot it so I want to get back into it.

What's the ammo situation like nowadays?

Guns are not a hobby. Knitting and stamp collecting are hobbies.

I know where you are coming from, but by definition it most certainly is a hobby.

Ammo situation in SoCal does not seem to be much (if any) better. If you get lucky you can grab a box of 22s from WalMart as they are putting them on the shelf at 7AM.

Ammo is significantly more available now compared to May. Things are still catching up but at least it is available. .22lr is still in short supply in some places though.

          Which new gun?

And yes, guns are a hobby for most.

A Glock 19, which I originally bought for self defense but I still haven't found any ammo.

I use to make frequent trips to the ammo counter at Walmart in hopes of having a range day but it was always empty. I stopped going when the clerk mentioned that there's always a line of guys at the door when they open. They make a beeline to the ammo case and buy the most popular calibers.

9mm should not be difficult to obtain. Where are you located? If you can not find any and you are near me I will give you a couple boxes.

9mm is still scarce, I've seen a box or 2 in stock @ walmart (Lompoc, SoCal, Santa Barbara County) from time to time, comparatively .40s&w is stacked deep 24/7, as well as an ample supply of .45..

although prices are inflated $2-$3/box over what they were a year ago

Have seen plenty of 9mm @ Big 5, at there usual BS prices + increased.

I haven't purchased off the shelf ammo since maybe March... have pretty much geared 100% torwards reloading this year ... used to only reload rifle cartridges.

Croqueting, needle point, and water coloring are cool too.

And, Puh-LEEZE, they got all kinds of 9mm even at WMT. I'd buy some if it wasn't so damned expensive. You should have no problem with 9mm. Just go online and order a case or three.

What "definition" might that be? Also, please cite which Constitutional Amendment protects our right to collect stamps or knit?

I am not playing your silly game, do not derail the OPs thread.

OP - Midway has some Fiocchi in stock. CTD has many different selections in stock. Both mentioned have inflated prices.

Don't buy from CTD, they do not care about us.

Yeah, and there is that too.

The last two or three times I have been in Wal-Mart they have had a few boxes of 9mm sitting there.

My local Walmart had a large delivery of Ammo last Saturday, including Remington 9mm ($14.97 for 50 rounds). The guy in the sporting goods department said it was unusual to get that much ammo in a shipment. They usually don't get Saturday deliveries either but were told that shipments would be coming daily through Christmas, but they never know how much ammo they will be getting on any given day.
