Disposing of ammo cans

Looking for some advice on how to handle some metal ammo cans..
I have about 5-6 metal ammo cans that I want to clear out and be responsible about it. Does anyone know a scrap metal recycler that will take these in the Bay Area?

Take them to a range and let the shooters "dispose" of them for you.

Yeah, put them up for sale or free on CG. If you were down in SoCal, I'd take them off you in a heartbeat.

+1, start a WTS add, face-to-face Bay Area for free ammo cans and they'll disappear.

I can't make Chabot tomorrow, but any of them you have trouble getting rid of, just bring them to the next tac rifle and I'll take them home with me.

put anything in them you like. the are farly airtight and stack nicely :-)

I've painted them bright orange and use them to store disaster/SHTF supplies. Med-kits, freeze-dried food, emergency blankets, matches, etc. You know the drill.

Why bright orange? I figure if my house or storage area is in rubble, it'll be easier to find.

hand tools, jumper cables, tire change items, air tools, wench items, other supplys for my jeep.
keeps them safe and dry while in the sticks, just lable up and one know what is in them.

and you can store up to 2000 rounds of .38 special is a "standard" ammo can.
