What is wrong with your Kimber mags? I love Mec-gars myself, always available, quality and inexpensive.

They don't seem to feed properly at times and the slide does not stay back on the last round from time to time.

I've found Chip McCormick (CMC) magazines to be more reliable than Wilson 47D and Kimbers due to their stronger springs and strong bodies. But I only recommend CMC for steel framed 1911s due to follower tilt. They do make an anti-tilt (PowerMag+) version for aluminum framed pistols but I haven't put in enough trigger time with them yet to recommend them.

          Kimber mags are AWFUL.

After going Wilson, I've had zero problems. Highly recommended.

I have both Wilson ETM's and CMC powermags for my 1911. They both work great. Wilson just released a new "flat-wire" ETM and I picked one up. Its a bit more pricey but should last longer and feeds flawlessly.

Tripp Research Cobra Mags and CMC mags are the only two I recommend. Go with the Tripps for alloy frames.

Wilson ETM's or Tripp. The 47D's are alright too.

Chip and Tripp both have been problem free for me. My Springfield oem mags have been good as well.

My Sprinfield Trophy Match likes Tripp Research Cobra Mags also.

I even put Tripp Super 7 Upgrade Kits in my factory Springfield Mags (I wanted solid followers and a stiffer springs), and they run great.

Maybe the Super 7 Upgrade Kit will help out your Kimber Mags, without you buying brand new mags. The Super 7 Kits are $8.95 each.
