I just purchased a stripped lower from turners yesterday. Today I realized I wrote my ssn wrong. Sigh. Will I have to do it all over again in 10 days and pay again? Thanks

Why don't you give them a call? They might be able to fix it before it is actually ran. -

it NEVER gets run when buying a firearm in CA. CA's DROS system does not use any of the info on the 4473 to do the background check.
you gain nothing, except the potential for identity theft, by listing your SSN on the 4473 for a CA purchase.
when your ten days are up, I'd tell the FFL that you made a mistake on the 4473 and need to make a correction to your SSN. even though it wasn't required to be listed, listing a false SSN could be a crime since you sign the form under penalty of perjury. so, before you reconfirm everything when you sign the 44773 the second time, update the SSN since you know it is incorrect. I doubt they will let you redact what you have listed now, but you should be able to correct it.Jack
Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?
