Forgetting the name "flash hider", would the simple fact, this part has threads, make it illegal? The description reads the threads allow for a supressor...

I don't think they're threads. I think they're grooves for carbon build-up.Helical grooves cut on the surface...

Threads on rifle barrels aren't a legal issue in CA, not a part of the AW ban.
The only thing you can't do with the vortex flash hider is use it on a featureless build. Please read the AW flow chart and make sure you understand what the AW features actually are.Comment

Yup, no issue with FH's or MB's that have suppressor mounts built in. Many do.
