    EDC pen light recommendations

I left my EDC light (Surefire E2D LED Defender) in a rental car over the weekend and haven't been able to recover it. Now I need a new EDC light, preferably a compact/pen light that isn't too expensive and will hold up to every day use. There's no way I'm spending another $150 on the E2D.

I browsed on Amazon and found these 3, any opinions or other recommendations?

5.11 ATAC PLx Tactical Pen Light - $25
Streamlight 66118 Stylus Pro Black LED Pen Flashlight - $23
Streamlight MicroStream LED Pen Light - $18

    Thanks.

Take a look at 4sevens Preon PenLights. I have a couple of there products, very happy with them. They are $60.00 more expensive than what you have listed.

      UltraFire SK68 Cree XR-E Q5 or clone
While its not a pen light, it is rather small.
I just got one the other week and am very impressed.

When you order from DX its coming from China so it is going to take a while to get it.
Comes with a charger and a 14500 battery. People say the 14500 makes it a lot brighter but I didn't see much of a difference over a AA.
One negative is the one I received only has On>Off not Hi>Low>Strobe as advertised but that is up to you if that is a big deal...

You can get them off amazon cheaper but its a crap shoot on what knockoff brand you get / quality /function.

I have 4 more coming from a US seller off ebay that happens to be in CA so the shipping is fast. Got em for 5.25 each.. No battery or charger tho. They are advertised to be the same brand but with the 3 function. I will see when they get here...

Might not be a tacticool brand name but it works really good so far and for the money you won't be as upset if you loose it / break it.

Take a look at 5.11 ATAC a1. For just an every day light it is small enough to keep in a pocket (mine sits right next to my wallet) uses a single aa battery. It is bright enough for most any need. Not Surefire bright but good enough. And the best part LApolicegear.com has it on closeout for $25. It's not the best light I own but it seems to be the one I carry the most, unless I know I am going to be out late and need something brighter.

Brother, order about 10-20 of these. At 4 bucks a pop it doesn't hurt so bad to loose one. We are always looking for flashlight at my house. I bought a dozen and just dropped em all around the house. I keep one on top of my safe, in the glove of each truck\car, on the key rack, in my range box\bag. Best money spent in years.

It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

I'm a flashlight junkie, have been for years. For true everyday carry I haven't found anything I like better than the http://www.amazon.com/iTP-A3-EOS-Fla.../dp/B006K5C2EG

Extremely small, light, relatively inexpensive, reliable, plenty of brightness on high when needed or use the low setting if you need it on for hours utilizing just a single AAA. I remove the key chain attachment and use the pocket clip.

Unless it vibrates and plays music, 20 bucks is all you need to pay AT MOST.

I've been extremely happy with my Streamlight Microstream.
Lost one, bought a replacement, and another for my Fiance.
                    Perfectly sized EDC light.

i just won an e bay auction on one of these for 99 cents. $3.00 for shipping.

i have had the cree ultrafire c8 with the xml t6 bulb for almost a year and i use it alot. it was $21 after shipping with the light a charger and two batteries. its high quality and very very bright. has not failed or left me in the dark at all. the batteries are good aswell. the $4 ones like the one i just ordered have the Q5 bulb which is not as good. and i dont like the zoom function or the thick convex lens but you cant beat $4 bucks.

Streamlight stylus pro gets my vote. I've been using one for work for the last 2 years. When my tail cap took a dump on me, an email to streamlight and by the end of the week I had a new tail cap.

Got one of these for when I don't need to carry my messenger bag with my other light. Throw it in the pocket and forget it until needed. Uses common AA batteries, works fine with Alk, replace with lithium if desired. Well established brand, at a reasonable price,

Those are good to throw around the house, but way too big (at least for me) for EDC.

The Streamlight Stylus Pro has 5 stars based on ~850 reviews, and with some Amazon credit I have it comes out to $18 shipped.
