How many completed 80%ers is one allowed to own?

Tried looking around online and google but couldn't find an answer. Some gunshop owner said he had a form from the ATF stating that citizens are only allowed to have 1 80% lower per household. If you build more, of course they won't know, but if they find out or if say you take more than 1 to the range and they catch it, you're busted.


When I asked to see the form, he said he had it at home in his office. Is this true?

50 home-built firearms per year. More than that and you're defined by law as a manufacturer, and you'll have to get an FFL-07.
