If you have the papers from the state saying it's a reg'd AW, you should be good to go.
Get a tactical-shmactical stock for that bad boy and run it with a standard mag release and your standard capacity mags

why was it registered as an AW, flash suppressor?Comment

The M1A looks so much better with the flash suppressor than the muzzle brake.Comment

Pistol grip that bad boy, for no other reason than you have a get out of jail free card. You can keep your flash hider on it at the same time.

My AW registration letter from Calif DOJ is dated April 13, 2001. No worries.. the letter is proof the DOJ accepted and recognizes your Aw registration as lawful.
Leave the flash hider on. its the way the gun was designed. I THINK that i heard somewhere that when the law requred removal of the flash hider and replaced it with a muzzlebrake, it changed the "harmonics" of the barrel and the accuracy. I dont know if its true but that was the rumor floating around in 2001/2002.Comment

If you lose the letter, how do you get another one ?Comment
