TO SHOOT or NOT TO SHOOT?!

Would love to hear the opinions of all of you about shooting or not shooting limited edition guns, or rare finds.

ie, kel tec-ksg, multicam ruger 10/22 takedown, etc.

KSG, 10/22 - shoot ‘em. No reason not to as there are plenty of them out there already having fun. Get @ it.

Colt 1911 prototype in unrestored condition, Himlers ppk, the guns from the OK Corral, guns that appear in the auctions and create bidding wars... those are the safe/presentation guns.

KSG and 10/22's are not rare.

A gun is made to be shot.... If it is just a safe queen, you would be better off selling it and buying something that you actually use and enjoy.

What about German Sig 226 and 228 from the 90's? They are hard to find, so don't shoot?

I think my simple rule would be if this less than 100 that will ever exist in the world don't shoot, more than that ...enjoy it and shoot it.

That way I can enjoy/shoot anything I will ever own.

              So mine is number 100.
              What is your shoot number?

You buying to resell or are you buying to own? Shoot it!

I buy to shoot. I have guns dating back to the mid 1800's that get shot. Why buy it if your not going to shoot it?

Ruger 10-22's were for sale at a gun show out here in AZ yesterday for $299.00. I would not worry about shooting it.

Only hold off on shooting collectable guns that lose value if you shoot them. Oh, and guns that you cannot certify as "safe" to shoot (antiques, etc.).
It was not a threat. It was an exaggerated response to an uncompromising stance. I was taught never to make a threat unless you are prepared to carry it out and I am not a fan of carrying anything. Even watching other people carrying things makes me uncomfortable. Mainly because of the possibility they may ask me to help.

My brother bought a Colt Python that had never been shot since being purchased new in the 70's. He promptly took it out and shot it. He lets me shoot it too but it makes me nervous, I'm too afraid of scratching it.

I vote for shoot it unless it's irreplaceable.

I say shoot everything at least once.

I know the takedowns are fairly common, but i think they made 1000 of the 10/22 takedown in multicam, and im not sure if they plan to make more.

I buy guns to both collect and shoot.

No point in having a tool you are not going to use.
