Anyone have a chance to do business with Centerfire Systems? I just recieved an AMD-65 muzzlebrake from them that I ordered just last week. When I got the package and first opened it, I was upset. There was some packing paper, and an HK cleaning kit. I was thinking, great, now I have to call and complain and wait, etc. Then I searched further and found the brake. I looked at the invoice and saw that the kit was a gift. SWEET. Then I inspected the brake. I found a small crack that ran along the crown's face. It went halfway around the face and was about 1/32" wide. I am no metal expert or gunsmith, but my gut told me that it probably isn't safe to use.
Today, I called Centerfire Systems and told them my problem. The lady in customer service was very nice. She didn't really have an answer for me on whether or not the brake was safe to use, but she went and got the answer. She said they are sending me a new brake, free of charge, and to just chuck the other brake in the trash. I offered to return the defective part, they said not to worry about it, just don't use it. I will take pictures of it and email to them just so they know what to look for in the future.
This is the kind of customer service that is lacking in many other industries these days. I paid for something, it wasn't right, I called, they fixed it. That's how it should be. I understand that people make mistakes and that sometimes a defective item slips through. To me, what's important is how it's made right. So far, I recommend doing business with them.
I'll add them to my list of good service providers:
Walther
Centerfire
Springfield Armory
Copquest.com
Galls
