I've noticed there have been fewer people in gun shops these days. All of a sudden the panic/rush to DROS AR-15 lowers and the like has chilled a bit. Next year we may even have an end to the assault weapons ban here in CA. Maybe... Post Heller there doesn't seem to be such an urgency to buy buy buy. The fear of losing our second amendment rights has been a bit alleviated. Me, I want to buy something new every week! Don't you think?

Less Panic Buying In CA Post Heller?

Cool. I've been tossing around the idea of buying a Saiga. Just out of curiosity do you know anything about Lancaster Arms AK's. I'm looking at the Saiga 16" 7.62x39 and the Lancaster 3060. My initial observation after holding these two rifles is that the Saiga is much better made. Very sharp edges on the Lancaster and a bolt that stuck open. Am I missing something on these Lancaster's or are they junk? Any thoughts? Thank you.Last edited by XD45; 06-29-2008, 11:40 PM.Comment

Actually the close split of the decision has pushed me towards purchasing more now that I had planned on before. Several Sigs, a couple rifles, one shotgun in the last months - now I'm going to pick up a couple more AR lowers and an LRB M1A receiver.
AB2062 has made me set aside $$ each month for large ammo purchases.Comment

I'm always trying to buy more no matter what the climate is like.Originally posted by halifaxHow about the next time a kid gets suspended/expelled for simply drawing a picture of a gun. I see a federal civil rights lawsuit against the school district for violation of 1st & 2nd amendments.

gas too much
I think there is just less buying in general and more stuff for sale. There is some dude here that has been selling South African 7.62 with over 100 BTTs at the panic price of 50 cents a round. Seems like the run on ammo is over and prices are slowly dropping for some types now. Last year he would probably have sold out in one day. I think with the high price of gas people just are not going out of there way to collect. I thought of driving to San Diego to buy some ammo like I did a few months ago but it is not worth the nearly $70 to get my truck there and back. Driving to Wister this fall is cost prohibitive.Comment

the street price for boxer primed brass cased non magnetic 308 is about 38 cents a round right now.
the truth is that while china may (may) be buying up all the lead, it's not as if lead is becoming rare. there is plenty of it and finding it isn't all that hard. and, if the chinese really are buying it up, mining companies will start producing more to match.
a realistic wish of mine is to to see wolf start producing non-magnetic 223 for the old price of $125/1000 again (adjusted for inflation and weak dollar, probably about $190)Entreprise Arms - FFL 07 manufacturer of CA-Legal FAL type rifles in Baldwin Park, CA.

With gas prices going up Face to Face transactions seem to waste more resources. I'd rather just send the stuff. Ammo hoarding in California might be a semi decent idea considering all this quasi legislation going around.Comment

If prices on guns and ammo go down, I won't argue.Originally posted by KestryllI want to be Princess Anastasia today because I feel prettyOriginally posted by QuarterBoreGunnerKes is really just an errand boyOriginally posted by KestryllI am NOT...anything other than a schmuck...Comment

Nope. Until we figure out how anti-gun the next president will be, the panic buying will continue; first starting off with all those "AWs" that Obama will gladly ban with one stroke of a presidential pen. I hope my FFL can get his hands on some of those nice OLL AKs soon; followed by some FALs, AR-10s and more AR-15 stripped receivers."Can our form of government, our system of justice, survive if one can be denied a freedom because he might abuse it?" --Harlon Carter
