Both. Weaponlight and handheld light.Comment

Mounted 4me. Maximize the mechanics in movements and minimize multitasking. Free's up my reloading hand too.Comment

I encourage all bad guys to use a weapon mounted light, and always keep it directly in front of their body"Did I say "republic?" By God, yes, I said "republic!" Long live the glorious republic of the United States of America. Damn democracy. It is a fraudulent term used, often by ignorant persons but no less often by intellectual fakers, to describe an infamous mixture of socialism, miscegenation, graft, confiscation of property and denial of personal rights to individuals whose virtuous principles make them offensive." - Westbrook PeglerComment

Depends on the light. If you get hit in the eyes by a good tac light from across the room when your eyes have become accustomed to darkness, you're not going to be able to aim.sigpicNRA MemberOriginally posted by Deadbolt"We're here to take your land for your safety"

I would favor light and gun..light has a lanyard so if you want to free up your reloading hand, it still is with you. I have kids in the house...I don't want a light on the gun because if I point the light their way to make sure I've identified them..I don't want to "muzzle them" with a light on the gun.
Best would be both, separate light and one on the gun....Comment

Whoa - assuming a handgun (as opposed to shotgun or rifle) theres a difference between a light on gun and a laser sight. If its light on gun I'm old school and want my light in my weak hand, but if the question is laser sight vs sep light give me the laser sight.I'm only smiling at you while you talk to me because it's hilarious that you really think I give a crap about you.
As I've gotten older I thought I was gaining patience, then I realized I simply don't give a crap.Comment

I prefer a seperate light,
However a modern bright light weapon light like a surefire, is SO bright that you dont have to point the light to light up a room to id the kids. Pointed at the ceiling will still give plenty of light to see who's there.
Just to put minds at ease about muzzle control and guests/kids.Comment
